Hey Alexa, Play ‘The Man’ by Taylor Swift: How Female-Led Augustine Agency Continues to Demand Space in a Male-Dominated Industry

March is Women’s History Month, and that holds a special kind of significance for us here at Augustine Agency. Augustine is proud to say we would not be where we are as an agency today without the work of so many incredible women who call themselves Visioneers, from our entry-level designers all the way up to our top leadership. In fact, of our 56 Visioneers, 60% are women, and women hold the majority of our leadership positions. Considering that less than 1% of marketing agencies in America are led by women, it becomes clear that our role in this shockingly small number is extremely important. So today, on this International Women’s Day, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the successes our agency has seen thanks to the brilliance and dedication of our talented female leadership, and discuss the ways they continue to make the agency stand out against a male-dominated crowd.

Augustine’s founder, Debbie Augustine, has always been something of a rock star in the advertising space. The agency started as a pet project in Debbie’s dining room, and quickly grew to become one of the most notable creative agencies in the California and Nevada areas. Since then, Debbie has made sure to surround herself with other talented, forward-thinking, vision-focused female professionals, such as our Chief Operating Officer, Kalie Whitsett, our Vice President of Client Partnerships, Lindsay Moore, and our Vice President of Digital, Sydnee Prince. These extremely talented women — and the many, many more on our team — are instrumental to Augustine’s success as an agency. Under their leadership, Augustine has reached a level of acclaim and success that Deb, in the beginning, only dreamed of. We have won several prestigious awards (check out our latest ADDYs wins here!) and have had the pleasure of working with clients all over the globe.

Being such a force in the advertising world creates a strong sense of pride throughout our entire team. “I’m inspired daily by the talented team we have here at the agency,” says Visioneer Lindsay Moore, VP of Client Partnerships at Augustine. “The women I get to collaborate with continue to raise the bar and it’s an honor to be in the trenches of our industry with each and every one of them.”
