Turn Up The Music: Auggies’ Songs of the Summer!

Friday, Aug 21st, 2020

While this summer may have been different than previous years, we’re still all about those summertime vibes! And although we may have missed group gatherings or live music together this summer, that didn’t stop us from keeping the barbecue party vibes buzzing.

Music (ok and coffee!) is an important part of the morning culture at any Augustine office. It doesn’t feel like the day really starts until someone turns on the shared office sound system and gets a playlist going. While our teams continue to do what we do best, ensure our clients’ success from home, music recommendations and playlists are another way for us to stay creative and, more importantly, connected!

Here are a few of the songs, playlists and genres keeping Auggies dancing, as we all wait to see what 2020 has up next on shuffle.

If you need to get your energy up in the morning, our Sr. Business Analyst Jim Vasquez, recommends kicking off your day with Yungblud’s Weird!

Looking to make a splash at a socially distanced pool party? Account Director Lisa Baraya promises that all you need to do is find the Yacht Rock Station on your favorite streaming platform!

Always the optimist, Group Creative Director Kevin Nelson recommends Paradise by Bazzi because it puts him in a good mood.

Turn wherever you are into your favorite coffee house by tuning in to Sirius XM’s Coffee House channel, as recommended by Account Director Cathy Nanadiego.

Who doesn’t love some good old country! There are so many songs our PR & Content Marketing Manager Jaime Hayden loves. Her favorite recommendations of the moment are Sam Hunt’s Hard to Forget and Jordan Davis’ Almost Maybes.

Account Supervisor Brittany Lima recommends mixing it up with Poolside’s Harvest Moon, a fun remix of the classic.

WAIT FOR IT! Sr. Account Director Kathy Norris and her daughter love to listen to everything from kid’s songs to Black Sabbath, and right now they won’t “waste their shot” to recommend the Hamilton soundtrack.

While Group Account Director Morgan Maberry admits songs like Gone for Good by The Shins, Lost Cause by Beck, The Other Shoe by Old 97s and Old Hat by Ben Kweller have absolutely nothing in common, they are still his go-to’s for any playlist!

A creative from head to toe, Associate Creative Director Samantha Maloney has several songs that are a must-listen with perfectly paired reasons why!

Prune, You Talk Funny by Gus Dapperton: This is a feel-good indie song by a guy who looks like he walked out of the 90s and right into 2020 (poor guy, if only he knew). It’s bouncy and fun and the music video is filled with the kind of vibes we all need right now!

Honey by The Motel Brothers and Katie Buxton: This song was made for listening to while getting some socially distant vitamin D on the patio. Pour a glass of wine and dream of your next road trip listening to this one for the third time on repeat.

Lemon Boy by Cavetown: This song is weird, sweet and you’ll find yourself singing along about having a citrus friend. Who couldn’t use a friend right now – right? Lemon Boy is the friend you need!

There is a song or a station on our list for every mood.  Find yourself a new favorite or rediscover something you already love with the help of Auggies!
